Maybe, I will probably stick to the current design and plan to manufacture the MAT 16X8 in the PCB sandwich construction. I am trying to reinforce the PCBs on the surface with an additional layer to eliminate the last risks of damage to the conductors.

The first version may be also available without the frame. The frame might be purchased separately if required or printed yourself using a (good) 3D printer (I will put the STL data online).I also added a new switcher cap to the 3d printed frame to make it even more robust and comfortable to use:
